A Note From Our Founder
Four years ago, we started MavenLuxe on one premise: A travel agency should become an expert in its clients before it claims to be an expert in anything else.
That means understanding more than where you want to go. It means remembering the hotel you’d happily return to, the pace that allows you to truly enjoy a place, and the small touches that make a trip feel entirely your own.
Because great travel doesn’t begin with a destination. It begins with understanding the person taking the trip.
Travel enough, and you will start noticing doors.
The ones you photograph without quite knowing why—a green door with a lion's-head knocker in Cartagena's old town; a wood door in Marrakech, worn pale where a thousand hands have pushed it open.
A door is a promise that there's something on the other side, and most of them stay closed.
Ours isn't a door from anywhere in particular. It borrows from many around the world—an arch from one, a frame from another. That's the point: we don’t open just one kind. Mallorca with just the two of you this spring, a Swiss chalet with the whole family at Christmas, two nights in London for work.
Everyone in this industry will tell you they open doors. Fewer will tell you which kind and, more importantly, which ones are actually worth opening. A door is only as valuable as whoever is behind it, and we know a great many people behind a great many doors.
We're so excited to unveil the MavenLuxe door—and even more excited to keep being the people you call for the long weekend, the safari, and everything in between. And we'll still be here when your friends and family call, too—and, in time, when your children do.
