Maven Finds: Inside Impression | Riviera Maya

Hanna's guide to the Riviera Maya's most stunning all-inclusive duo.

In May, MavenLuxe advisor Hanna spent four days getting to know both Impression properties in the Riviera Maya: Impression Moxché, set along the coastline in Playa del Carmen, and Impression Isla Mujeres, perched on the southern tip of a small island off the coast of Cancún. Hanna came back with a lot to say and a camera roll that speaks for itself.

Impression Moxché

If you’re after an all-in-one, adults-only (18+) escape, Moxché is the perfect choice. With multiple pools, a lively bar and nightlife scene, a variety of à la carte restaurants, and a long beachfront, it's the kind of place where, once you've arrived, there's little reason to leave. And despite its scale, it still feels romantic and private. Fly into Cancún, and you’re at the property in about 30 to 45 minutes.

Impression Isla Mujeres

For Hanna, Isla Mujeres stole the show. The resort was named the “Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World” by Luxury Travel Advisor two years in a row (2024 & 2025), and you’ll understand why as soon as you step into your suite and see the turquoise water in front of you. Her verdict: it looks like Bora Bora – only this is Mexico, and so much closer.

Part of the magic is the arrival. You reach the resort by private catamaran from the mainland, a roughly 30- to 45-minute cruise across the water that lets you leave the ordinary behind before you've even checked in.

This adults-only property (18+) is built into the southern tip of an island just five miles long, so nearly every suite has some water view. The design works with the natural landscape rather than imposing on it.

The All-Inclusive Experience

Both properties are all-inclusive (or, as Impression calls it, “Endless Privileges”), and the package is quite generous. Butler service, dining, beverages, and room service are all included in your stay. And because every restaurant is à la carte rather than buffet-heavy, the dining feels a step above the usual all-inclusive model.

One important point about Isla Mujeres: thanks to its protected, west-facing location, the resort's beach remains mostly free of sargassum year-round — a major attraction for anyone who has dealt with seaweed elsewhere on this coast. If you know, you know.

Who These Resorts Are For

Honeymooners. Anniversary trips. A couple celebrating a milestone. Groups of friends who want luxury and ease without sacrificing personality. The best time to visit is winter or spring. If you’re splitting time between the two properties, Hanna recommends spending three nights at each. If a longer stay at one property suits you better, four to five nights gives you room to breathe.

VIP Amenities

Book either property through us, and you'll receive exclusive MavenLuxe amenities, including daily breakfast for up to three guests, a $200 resort credit per room, per stay, and a welcome amenity. Early check-in, room upgrades, and late check-out are available on request, subject to availability.
